Mandatory Sick Leave
To Everyone Who Supports This Bill:
All I ask of you is to consider this:
If someone told you that you now have to make an extra house payment this year where would you get that money? You would have to either tell your employer that you are suddenly worth more money or get a new job.
So what do you want me and every other small business owner in Milwaukee to do? Raise our prices or get new jobs?

This is socialism in every sense of the term. Don’t they realized that even the Chinese are capitalists? Socialism as a Government mandate DOES NOT WORK.

If someone told you that they lived paycheck to paycheck and that they survived on minimum wage, or just above, down to the last dollar each paycheck and that they were sick what would you tell them? Too bad for you, you shouldn’t have gotten sick?
I feel bad for those people, I really do. But why should that be the employers problem? And why don’t you feel bad for the business owner?! If I have 5 employees that take 40 hours of sick pay at minimum wage thats almost $1,500. That isn’t exactly money that most small business owners can just hand over.
All this is going to do is cost Milwaukee more jobs when businesses leave, and raise the prices of goods and services to the consumer. For what? People that can’t budget properly? Maybe if we STOPPED HANDING MONEY TO PEOPLE THEY WOULD TAKE IT UPON THEMSELVES TO FIX THE SITUATION THEY GOT THEMSELVES IN!
